Angus Young (AC/DC) "You shook me all night long" solo

Guitarist Angus Young, "You shook me all ninght long" - does it get any more bluesrock than this? This solo is filled with pentatonic rock clichés and licks.

Guest instructor Jimmie Nilsson breaks down and shows us the licks slowly and clearly. Jimmie is 16 years old and attends both private tuition with Kristofer as well as high school music classes (Värmdö gymnasium estetisk linje).

The solo is based around G minor pentatonic ( G - Bb - C - D - F). Scales can also be described as having different intervals, or scale degrees, for the pentatonic scale we have 1 - b3 - 4 - 5 - b7, for G-minor pentatonic we get the previously mentioned notes. Angus Young also adds some tension notes to the scale: the second (A) and the major sixth (E).

The sound in this lesson is achieved with a Marshall jcm800 simulation - with medium drive settings. Effects: slight reverb and short stereo delay.
