The intro/chorus part of Hells Bells has a "creepy" feel to it. The riff comes from an E minor scale.

To get the right sound, make sure to let all the notes ring as long as possible - this is very important. Also note that two notes on the same fret are played with a "mini-barré".

Try to get a sound with slight distortion - too much of it will just turn all the ringing notes into mudd!
