...a secret revealed
!
You made it! First: sorry for the inconvenience, this pain in the neck process helps bringing visitors to FreeLicks.
The secret I wanted to tell you is the following:
I have always been told as a child that I had no talent or whatsoever to become a guitarist/musician. 15 years later I have my own instructional guitar site, and my band Artifex has not got one bad review (yet!), so...
...what's the secret? - REALISING THAT THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TALENT. If you think you have talent you won't work hard enough (and practice all day). So if you want to be the best guitarist in the world, go ahead, you can do it! If you have felt/been told that your chances are low, consider yourself lucky!
If you don't believe me, ask basist Billy Sheehan (by many considerd the best bass player in the world), who says exactly the same thing "I don't consider myself having any natural talent , I worked my way to it".
What to learn from this? - Ask yourself what you really want. If just want to be a rock star, then your chances are not very high. However, if you feel you want to improve, see how far you can push your ability, and become something , then the world is open for you, no matter what people say...
