The Eagles "Hotel California" -solo video guitar lesson
-> Go to part 2 3 4

Guest intructor Rob Girard brings us the classic "Hotel California" solo. It's an excellent illustration of how endless variations can be created around some "cliché rock licks".

Here is some of Rob's comments on the solo:

"All I can say is make sure your timing is right. All I did was play along with the song a bunch of times and got it right. Even though I didn't do much vibrato in the solo make sure to end every lick/run with a good vibrato if you can. Listen to the song to get the vibrato right.

And I practice every day. I at least try to get 4-5 hours a day of practice. When summer comes along I'll be practicing all day for sure."

So Rob spends his time practicing, with his band and in the Guitar Masterclass. For more of Rob's lessons check out the Slash "Knocking on Heaven's door" solo.
