Rolling stones "Satisfaction" intro riff

The intro riff to Satisfaction must be a candidate for "best rock riff" title. Anyhow, this sure is a great beginner's riff.

You should look out for the slides - which are essential to get the right sound. Also, make sure you are fretting with the right hand close to the upper fret + press hard with your left hand fingers in order to not loose sustain.

Notice how the very first note is muted shortly after the pick strike, this produces a cool rhythmic effect, also essential to get the right Rolling Stones sound.

If you are a beginner and just nailed this riff - congratulations!! I hope this will make you continue with the guitar and eventually completely dive into the world of guitar (it's a wonderful place to be - I can assure you!)

From now on, be sure to learn things that are within your range in order not to loose motivation. If you want make quick progress - spend a lot of time "within your range" - before you know it your range will grow!

Good luck!
